We operate an online store at specrated.com offering:

(A) Watch Service (mail-in service/repair/restoration),
-
(B) Refurbished watches (pre-owned timepieces), and
-
(C) New straps & accessories.
By placing an order you agree to these Terms.
1) Key principles & definitions

Consumer means a natural person acting outside a trade/profession within the EU/EEA.

Refurbished means pre-owned and serviced items with honest wear; cosmetics are not “as-new”.

Patina-first: We preserve original character and avoid heavy refinishing unless you request it.

Water-resistance (WR) results are valid at the time/date of test only. Wear/age/shocks can change WR at any time.

We are independent and not affiliated with Rolex SA, Montres Tudor SA, Omega SA, Seiko or any other brand. Trademarks belong to their owners.

Your statutory rights under EU/EEA and local consumer law remain unaffected by these Terms.
2) Ordering, prices & payment

Prices are shown in EUR and include Finnish VAT where applicable.

We may update prices at any time. The price at the time of checkout applies.

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Orders are confirmed only after successful payment.

For orders shipping outside the EU, the customer is responsible for any local taxes/duties.
3) Shipping, risk & inspection on arrival

Address collection: For services, we treat the product as “physical” at checkout so we can collect a return address and show insured return-shipping options.

Inbound to us (service orders): You are responsible for packing and insuring the watch until we confirm receipt.

Outbound to you: For consumer purchases we bear the risk until delivery to you.

Please inspect on delivery and notify us of transport damage or missing items within 48 hours.
4) (A) Watch Service — specific terms
4.1 Scope & philosophy
We service watches to be used and trusted, not turned into showroom pieces. By default we do not perform heavy refinishing. We replace failed/unsafe parts (e.g., gaskets, worn crown/tube) only with your consent when not included in the base service.
4.2 Intake, quotes & approvals

You place a service order and select a return-shipping option.

You complete our intake form and ship the watch to us (packed and insured).

We assess and may propose additional works/parts (e.g., balance, crown/tube, crystal) with a quote.

No extra chargeable work is done without your approval (email acceptance or paid invoice).
4.3 Base service & exclusions
-
Base service typically includes: full teardown & ultrasonic clean; re-oil to spec; new mainspring + new gaskets (where applicable); multi-position regulation; demagnetise if needed; 48–72 h run test; WR test where the case allows; timing sheet & notes.

Crystals (acrylic/mineral/sapphire) are not included; acrylic may be lightly polished when feasible. Crystal replacement, dial/hands work, crowns/tubes/pushers, autowind parts, balance assemblies, bezel/inserts and any light refinishing are extra and quoted first.
4.4 Timeframes
Indicative turnaround is 2–5 weeks depending on parts and workload. Time is not of the essence and delays do not give a right to damages.
4.5 Test results & WR
WR is measured and documented at the time of test and cannot be guaranteed thereafter. Swimming/diving users should arrange regular (e.g., annual) checks.
4.6 Service warranty
We provide a workshop warranty on the serviced movement for [X months] from return delivery (term appears on your quote). It covers workmanship and parts we supplied/installed during the service.
Exclusions: impact/shock, water damage after delivery, misuse, non-approved opening, magnetism, corrosion, third-party interventions, and normal wear. This warranty adds to your statutory rights.
4.7 Withdrawal (services)
EU consumers have a 14-day right to withdraw from a service contract counted from order confirmation.

If you ask us to start work during the 14 days, you agree to pay proportionate costs for work performed up to withdrawal.

Once the service is fully performed with your express prior consent and acknowledgment that you lose the right to withdraw, the withdrawal right no longer applies.
To withdraw, email service@specrated.com within 14 days; we’ll confirm next steps.
4.8 Replaced parts
Unless agreed otherwise in writing before work starts, replaced parts become our property for safe disposal/testing.
5) (B) Refurbished watches — specific terms
5.1 Nature & condition
Refurbished watches are pre-owned. Expect honest wear consistent with description/photos. We provide timing data and any WR test performed (model-dependent). Cosmetics are not “as-new.”
5.2 Warranty & legal guarantee

We provide a workshop warranty on the movement for 6 months from delivery (wear-and-tear and water damage excluded unless expressly stated).

Your statutory rights apply. Where national law allows a shorter legal guarantee for second-hand goods, we apply 12 months; if local law requires a longer period, that period applies.
5.3 Right of withdrawal (distance sales)
EU consumers may withdraw within 14 days from delivery without giving a reason.
To exercise: email service@specrated.com within 14 days. You must return the watch within 14 days after notifying us.
Condition for returns: The watch must be returned in the same condition with all accessories/documents and any tamper seals intact. We may deduct for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the watch.
Return shipping costs are borne by you (unless we failed to supply as described). Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or proof of return), using your original payment method.
5.4 Water-resistance after delivery
Any WR stated is valid at the time of our test only. We cannot guarantee WR after delivery due to unknown future use/handling.
6) (C) New straps & accessories — specific terms

New goods come with the statutory legal guarantee under EU/EEA law (minimum standards apply). Manufacturer warranties, if any, run in addition.

14-day withdrawal applies to unused straps/accessories. Please return unworn items with all packaging/protective films intact; we may deduct for diminished value if used/marked.
7) Returns process (goods)

Email service@specrated.com with order number to obtain return instructions.

Pack securely; include all items and paperwork.

Use a tracked, insured service. You are responsible until we receive the return.

We confirm receipt, inspect, and process a refund minus any permitted deductions for diminished value (where applicable).
8) Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation/exclusion is unlawful (e.g., death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or gross negligence).
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of resale value or market fluctuations, missed events, or third-party courier failures.

For goods or services you purchased, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the item/service giving rise to the claim.

We do not guarantee long-term water-resistance beyond the documented test time.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
9) Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., supply issues, customs delays, strikes, power/network outages, war, natural events).
10) Authenticity, IP & third-party marks
We do not provide brand authentication services. All brand names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to fairly describe compatibility or scope of service.
11) Privacy & cookies

12) Complaints & dispute resolution

13) Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Finnish law, and disputes may be brought in the courts of Finland or the EU consumer’s local courts as required by applicable consumer law.
14) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your order applies to that order.
